Pat Harris has turned an early fascination with science into a distinguished career in laser engineering that now spans more than twenty-five years. After graduating from Texas State Technical Institute in 1977, Mr. Harris joined Korad Inc. in Santa Monica and launched a professional trajectory that has involved some of the nation's top technology firms as well as his own start-up company.

In his engineering positions with Lumonics, Cincinnati Incorporated, Coherent General, and more recently Santa Barbara Infrared Inc., Mr. Harris has consistently demonstrated innovation, creativity, and initiative, developing new designs and processes that have placed him at the cutting-edge of applied laser technology.

He is a Certified Laser Safety Officer and creator of the EASY HAZ^TM family of laser hazard analysis software tools. At the same time, Mr. Harris has continued to pursue his interest in science by returning to school to study physics and mathematics in greater depth; he has completed a bachelor of science degree with a concentration in math and physics.

In addition to science, Mr. Harris has a passion for the outdoors and enjoys mountain hiking, ocean kayaking, and scubing diving with his petite but spunky wife Liz and his Yoda-lookalike pooch Lexy. E-mail Pat Harris
